Civil Works and Heavy Structure
While our primary focus is on building structures, CYS also specializes in the design and evaluation of civil works structures. Our Principal, Art Ross, began his career with the Corps of Engineers, and along with other engineers on our team, offers significant experience and expertise in civil works. Over the years, we have successfully handled a diverse range of civil projects, demonstrating our versatility and capability in this field.
Past projects have included the design and construction of tall retaining walls with tiebacks, deep excavation cutoff walls with tiebacks, and both new and seismic renovation designs for bridges and elevated walkways. Additionally, we have designed riverfront docks, precast concrete barges, floating docks, and large-scale water containment vessels. Our expertise extends to seismic renovations of several large elevated steel and concrete water tanks, showcasing our ability to tackle complex structural challenges across both building and civil engineering domains.
