Healthcare Facilities

CYS has successfully delivered numerous healthcare projects, which have historically made up a substantial portion of our portfolio. Since our inception, we have provided structural engineering design services for a wide range of hospital and healthcare facilities in California, navigating the OSHPD (now HCAI) review process with expertise. With over three decades of experience in structural plan checks, we are well-versed in the HCAI peer review and approval process. Additionally, many of our anchorage designs have been preapproved, enabling suppliers to install their equipment without requiring a “project-specific” review.

CYS is providing engineering services for several acute care hospitals to ensure compliance with Senate Bill 1953, which mandates seismic evaluations and the preparation of comprehensive evaluation reports and compliance plans. These plans must detail how the hospitals will meet specified structural and nonstructural performance categories and be submitted in accordance with the regulations. A key aspect of SB1953 is the establishment of seismic performance categories for existing general acute care hospital facilities, organized into various subcategories.
