Lathrop High School is the newest high school campus for the Manteca Unified School District and is comprised of 12 principal buildings, primarily constructed of wood framing and totaling approximately 172,000 SF. The large gymnasium building is primarily wood-framed and about 38,200 SF in size, of which about 13,700 SF is concrete tilt-up construction. The entire project including site work cost approximately $58 million, which amounted to about $265/SF for the permanent buildings, well below the 2006 State average of $400/SF for similarly constructed facilities. Subsequently, this design has been reused at Kimball High School for Tracy Unified School District and Pacheco High School at Los Banos Unified School District.
