CYS engineers actively engage in research and information sharing, drawing on insights gained from recent major seismic events. They are deeply involved in structural engineering organizations, committees, and educational programs, contributing to SEAOCC State Committees tasked with developing the next generation of design standards and codes. CYS engineers have served as chairs of the 2010-2011 Structural Engineers Association of Central California (SEAOCC) Existing Buildings Committee and coauthored the SEAOCC Commentary on Chapter 34 Existing Structures of the 2010 California Building Code.
